1. Who provides this service
McPherson Industrial Development Company operates GoMcPherson and the Homestead service. In these Terms, “GoMcPherson,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to that company. “You” means the person using the service, including an applicant or an authorized organizational user.
These Terms cover Homestead and GoMcPherson program features that display these Terms. They do not replace a separate incentive agreement, employment agreement, lease, purchase agreement or another provider’s terms. A separate program agreement controls its specific eligibility, award and payment conditions. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
When we ask you to accept these Terms to create an account or submit an application, your affirmative acceptance forms your agreement with us. If you do not accept, contact us about other ways to obtain program information. Acceptance does not authorize a background check or optional sharing.
2. Available services and demonstrations
Homestead helps households express interest in moving to McPherson County, submit and maintain an application, receive follow-up and view program progress. Authorized staff use it to administer applications and keep records.
Additional features are planned for housing referrals through House 2 Home ("H2H"), incentive administration, jobs and employer connections, and program outcome reporting. Future job services may serve relocating adults, their spouses or partners, and local jobseekers, subject to the eligibility rules for that service. Availability depends on implementation, funding and the applicable program rules. Describing a planned feature does not mean it is available or that you have enrolled in it. We will explain new collection and sharing at the relevant step and request separate permissions where required.
Staging and demo environments are for fictional information only. Do not enter real household information, identity or income documents, Social Security numbers, payment information or background-check details. Sample documents, simulated screening and demonstration statuses have no effect on a real application, background check, award or payment. Demonstration records may be reset or removed without notice. Authorized staff may use their assigned work accounts to access the demo.
3. Accounts and household information
You must be at least 18 and able to enter an agreement to hold an applicant account. Use your own account and protect its sign-in credentials. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.
A household currently has one designated contact’s account. That contact can submit and manage the household information available in the portal. Provide accurate information, keep material details current and have permission to submit another adult’s information. Let those adults know that you are including them and direct them to the Privacy Policy. The contact cannot accept another adult’s background-check authorization, employer sharing or other individual consent merely by representing the household.
Provide only the requested dependent count, not children’s names or birth dates. Do not place sensitive documents, screening findings, financial account details or medical information into ordinary text fields or email. If a future program step requires sensitive information, follow the specific secure process provided for that step.
4. Applications, decisions and incentives
Submitting an application starts a review; it does not guarantee acceptance, employment, housing, funding or a payment. Program availability and any deadlines or conditions will be explained in the applicable program materials and agreements. Contact us if information appears inconsistent.
An “Applied” status records receipt of an application. “Prequalified” and “Offer approved” reflect program decisions recorded by authorized staff. They do not by themselves establish that a background check has cleared, a landlord or employer has approved you, or payment conditions have been satisfied. A staff task or screening step being marked complete does not automatically approve an application.
Any future incentive offer will identify the applicable amount, conditions, documentation, timing and any repayment obligations in a separate agreement. A portal payment record may document a payment administered elsewhere; it is not itself a transfer of money. These Terms do not establish an incentive amount or a right to funding. Ask the program team about an apparent error or a decision you wish to have reviewed; applicable program and legal review rights remain available.
5. Your choices about sharing and screening
Using Homestead requires processing information needed to operate your account, administer your application and meet applicable obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. Optional community updates and employer visibility are separate choices. Declining them does not disqualify your Homestead application.
Employer visibility currently concerns the designated contact’s own contact profile and relocation interests. It does not authorize sharing other adults’ profiles, dependent information, documents or screening information. Future job applications and H2H referrals will identify the recipient and information involved. Each adult must make the individual choices that apply to them. Choosing not to send information to a particular employer or housing provider may prevent that particular referral or application from proceeding.
These Terms, a privacy acknowledgement and a program application are not background-check authorization. Real screening is not available in the current demonstration. Before any real screening is offered, GoMcPherson must establish an appropriate permitted purpose, approved provider arrangement and the applicable separate disclosure, authorization and decision procedures. Each person to be screened must receive the relevant information and provide any required authorization personally or through a legally authorized representative.
If screening becomes available, sensitive intake and report access are intended to occur through Checkr’s secure process. Checkr supplies information; it does not decide GoMcPherson program eligibility. Applicable rights to receive notices, review or dispute report information and respond before a decision will be preserved. Separate screening materials will explain the process for the particular use. No report is authorized for unrelated marketing, employer referrals or housing referrals by accepting these Terms.
6. Employers, housing providers and other organizations
Organizations using future employer or partner features must act through authorized users, provide accurate listings and contact information, and use applicant information only for the disclosed purpose and with the necessary authority. They may not resell applicant data, scrape profiles, use access for unrelated marketing or redistribute sensitive information.
Employers and housing providers are responsible for their own offers, decisions and obligations, including applicable nondiscrimination and consumer-reporting requirements. Access to a GoMcPherson referral does not authorize them to order a consumer report or obtain GoMcPherson screening records.
External services, listings and links may have their own terms, privacy practices and availability. Review them before providing information or entering an agreement. GoMcPherson does not become your employer, landlord, lender or real estate agent merely by operating this portal or providing a referral.
7. Acceptable use and submitted content
Do not impersonate another person, submit intentionally false applications, access someone else’s records without permission, bypass security, disrupt the service, upload malicious content or use the service unlawfully. Do not post discriminatory or misleading listings, or copy private applicant information into public content.
You retain your rights in information and content you submit. You give us permission to handle it as necessary to provide the requested services and as described in the Privacy Policy. This is not permission to publish your application or use your name, photograph or story in promotion. Testimonials and other identifiable promotional materials require separate permission.
GoMcPherson and its licensors retain their rights in the service’s software, branding and other materials. You may use the service for its intended purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
8. Communications, changes and account closure
We may send account, security and application-related communications needed to provide the service. Optional community or campaign messages depend on your separate choice. You can change optional sharing preferences through available portal controls or contact us for help.
You may ask to withdraw an application or close access to your account. Withdrawal, archiving and account closure do not automatically erase records; the Privacy Policy explains retention and deletion requests.
We may restrict access to address misuse, security risks or legal requirements. Where appropriate, we will explain the restriction and offer a way to raise an error. An access restriction is not a substitute for any notice or review process required for a program, employment, housing or screening decision.
Features may change or be temporarily unavailable. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and provide notice of material changes through the service or appropriate account communications. If a change requires new acceptance or permission, we will request it before relying on that change. Revised Terms do not retroactively authorize new uses of previously collected information or override existing award agreements.
9. Service limitations and legal rights
We work to keep the service accurate and available, but errors, delays and interruptions can occur. To the extent permitted by law, the online service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of uninterrupted access or a particular application, housing, employment or financial outcome. Separate written program commitments remain governed by their terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes obligations or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or waives applicable privacy, consumer-reporting, nondiscrimination or other statutory rights. These Terms do not require arbitration, waive participation in a class action or set a monetary cap on liability.
Kansas law governs these Terms, subject to applicable federal law and any protections that cannot be waived under the law applicable to you. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful.
