1. Who we are and what this notice covers

McPherson Industrial Development Company operates GoMcPherson and the Homestead service. “We,” “us” and “our” mean that company. This policy describes information handled through Homestead and GoMcPherson program features that display this policy, including applications, staff administration and the additional services described below when they become available.

It does not replace another organization’s privacy notice when you use its website or services. Our Terms of Service explain service use. Acknowledging this policy is not consent to every possible use of information and does not authorize a background check.

Current staging demonstration: Applications must use fictional household information. Document examples are generated samples; background checks are simulated. No real background-check order, document verification, incentive award or payment occurs in the demo. Authorized staff accounts and ordinary technical access records may still contain real account or device information. Demo records may be reset. Do not enter real applicant information or sensitive documents into staging.

2. Information we collect and why

Depending on the features you use, we handle the following information:

InformationExamples and purpose
Account and access informationName, email, sign-in provider identifier, account role, invitations, permissions and access history, to authenticate users, connect the right person to an application and protect access. Our sign-in provider handles credentials through its login service.
Household and relocation informationAdult names, designated contact email and optional phone, household size and dependent count, moving interest and timeline, housing preferences and community interests, to administer the household’s application and follow up. We request dependent counts rather than children’s names or birth dates.
Saved application draftsInformation entered into saved steps before submission, to let the account holder resume an application. Leaving the form or deciding not to submit does not automatically erase a saved draft.
Program administrationApplication stage and history, assigned staff, follow-up tasks, ordinary staff comments, contact history and withdrawal or archive status, to coordinate review and document program activity. Staff comments and internal administrative records are not all displayed in the household portal.
Choices and audit recordsApplication acknowledgements, optional sharing choices, actor, date, policy version, changes and administrative/export activity, to apply preferences and document actions. Historical acknowledgement records are retained even when a current optional choice is turned off.
Referral and campaign informationReferral source, campaign labels carried in a link, application and follow-up events, and campaign click/spend totals supplied by campaign administrators, to understand how people find the program and evaluate outreach. Campaign labels should not contain personal information.
Communications and supportInformation you provide when contacting the program team, plus invitation, reminder and delivery records, to respond and operate the service.
Technical informationIP or connection addresses, requested pages, timestamps, browser/device information, security events, cookies and session identifiers processed by the service or its infrastructure providers, to deliver pages, maintain sessions, diagnose failures and prevent abuse. Application URLs can contain record identifiers.

Information can come from you, the household’s designated contact, authorized staff, referring employers or other approved referral partners, sign-in and infrastructure providers, and integrations you choose to use. When a contact supplies another adult’s details, that contact should inform the adult and have permission to provide them. An adult can contact us about information supplied on their behalf without having their own household login.

Application administration, security and required recordkeeping do not depend on opting into marketing or employer visibility. Required fields are identified in the relevant process; without information needed to provide a service, we may be unable to provide that service. Do not include medical information, Social Security numbers, bank credentials, income evidence or screening details in general text fields or ordinary email.

3. Planned services and additional information

The services below are planned or conditional. They are not all available today. Before activating a service, we will explain the collection, recipient and purpose at the relevant step, update this notice where necessary, and obtain any required permissions. Your current application does not automatically enroll you in these services.

Documents and eligibility evidence. Real document uploads are not currently available. If a future program requires income, employment or housing evidence, we will identify what is necessary, who may access it, the secure submission method and the applicable retention rules before collection. A sample-document demonstration is not a request for a W-2 or other real evidence.

Mover HQ. A future household workspace may include relocation checklists, housing matches, incentive progress, welcome resources and messages with the program team. It may retain checklist activity, message contents, participants and dates to coordinate your move. We will identify who can see messages and any additional information requested when those features are introduced.

H2H housing referrals. A future House 2 Home referral may transfer specified contact, household and housing-interest information with your permission. We will identify the recipient and fields before transfer. With the relevant permission, H2H may return referral or housing outcomes, such as a rental or purchase, for follow-up and incentive administration. A referral does not give H2H general access to the Homestead database or screening reports. H2H and participating housing providers have their own privacy practices.

Incentives and program reporting. Future incentive administration may record an offer, amount, qualifying milestones, relocation or housing outcome, approval, payment status and supporting references. Award terms will explain required evidence and any information necessary for financial, tax, audit or funder obligations. Payment processing and tax-document collection are not currently offered in Homestead; bank or tax information must not be entered into ordinary application fields. We will explain any future secure process before requesting it.

Jobs and employer connections. Future job services may serve relocating adults, their spouses or partners, and local jobseekers under the applicable service rules. They may collect an individual adult’s employment interests, experience, skills, application materials, submissions and placement outcomes. Those details will be requested only for the specific feature being offered. Each adult controls their own employment sharing; one contact’s household application does not opt in every adult. Employers will receive only the profile or submission fields identified for the relevant connection. Dependent information, household documents and GoMcPherson screening information are excluded.

An employer portal may collect business and work-contact details, authorized user accounts, job descriptions, listing information and recruiting activity to administer postings and applications. It will identify which listing and contact fields are public before publication; private account and applicant records will not become public job listings.

Follow-up and outcomes. Future quarterly grant and public outcome reports may measure recruited and relocated households, referral sources, income averages, jobs filled and wages, leases signed, homes purchased, reasons an application did not proceed, and participation or relocation outcomes after the first year. Income, wage, employment and housing outcome fields are not currently collected in the household application. We will explain the information requested, its source, purpose and any required or optional participation before introducing this collection. Screening findings will not be used as general outreach or stalled-application reason codes.

Internal reports can contain identifiable program records available to authorized staff. Public or broadly distributed reporting is intended to use aggregate information with safeguards against identifying people in small groups. A funder or auditor’s need for identifiable information will be assessed separately and explained in the relevant program notice or as required by law. Optional marketing permission does not control required program or financial records.

4. Background checks through Checkr

The current demo simulates screening and does not send applicant information to Checkr or collect real screening authorization. A production screening service requires a separately established permitted purpose, provider arrangement and legally appropriate process; those are not established merely by accepting this policy.

If real screening is introduced, the person being screened will receive a separate disclosure and any required authorization request explaining the purpose and scope. The intended process sends limited routing information, such as the person’s email and an application reference, to Checkr. The person supplies any required identity information directly through Checkr’s hosted process. Checkr may collect sensitive identifiers and prepare the authorized consumer report under its own notice and applicable law; review Checkr’s Privacy Policy when using that process.

The screening integration is designed to retain the selected adult’s name/email snapshot, provider reference numbers, request and progress information, relevant configuration references, timestamps and staff review acknowledgements. It does not save Social Security numbers, dates of birth, criminal findings, report PDFs or a “clear/consider” result from the provider into Homestead records. Ordinary text fields can retain what a person types, so these details must not be entered there. Authorized GoMcPherson screening reviewers may review the actual report within Checkr. This access is separate from ordinary staff access and does not make a report available to employers, H2H or marketing partners.

The designated household contact may see limited screening progress relevant to the application, including when action or review is needed. That does not give them another adult’s private invitation or report. Screening completion is not automatic program approval. Any real report use will follow the notices, dispute and decision procedures applicable to its particular purpose. Contact the reporting provider to dispute report accuracy and GoMcPherson about the program decision or process; neither this policy nor the Terms waives those rights.

5. Who receives information

GoMcPherson staff and authorized support. Program staff access information needed for their authorized responsibilities. LOQL provides technical development and support, with access when needed to operate, maintain or troubleshoot the service. Administrative support can involve access to program records; information is not public merely because it is stored in the portal.

Infrastructure providers. Providers supporting the current system include Render for hosting/database services, Amazon Web Services for sign-in, transactional email and backups, and Cloudflare for network delivery and security. They process the information required for their services. Their own terms and notices may cover account, security or other information they handle independently. The provider list and this notice will be reviewed when arrangements materially change.

Optional outreach. With your community-update choice, GoMcPherson and its designated outreach partner may use the contact information and application milestones identified in that choice for community and campaign communications. BowerComm is the planned outreach partner; external delivery is not enabled in the current demo. The prepared application-event connection contains program reference numbers, campaign labels, event type and time. It excludes names, contact details, household composition, documents and screening information. Those references can still be linked to a person by a partner that already holds the corresponding referral; they are not anonymous data. Any separate contact-list transfer must be described and authorized before it begins.

Employers and housing partners. The current staging employer-visibility control records a preference; an employer portal and employer profile delivery are not yet active. That preference covers only the designated contact’s own contact profile and relocation interests. It does not itself send an application to every employer or authorize additional adult profiles. Future job submissions and H2H transfers will follow the specific choices described above. Independent recipients are responsible for their subsequent handling under their own notices and applicable law.

Program administration and legal needs. We may provide relevant information to authorized advisers, auditors or funders where necessary to administer an applicable program, comply with law, resolve a dispute or meet an obligation explained for that program. We may also disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect people, accounts or the service. We limit such disclosures to the relevant purpose; these provisions do not authorize unrelated marketing or unrestricted consumer-report sharing.

We do not sell personal application records or provide them to advertisers for cross-site targeted advertising. We do not publish an applicant’s name, photograph or testimonial for promotion without separate permission.

6. Your choices and requests

Where self-service features are enabled, you can review and edit available household profile fields and change optional employer visibility and community-update preferences through the applicant portal. Those editing and preference controls are currently available in the staging pilot; the existing production household portal provides read-only access. Contact us for help if a control is unavailable, you do not have an account, or you need to correct another record.

Turning off optional sharing stops future sharing controlled by that choice, including queued disclosures that have not already been sent. It does not erase necessary program records, historical consent evidence or information already lawfully received by another organization. We cannot technically recall a downloaded copy. We will address recipient requests and any applicable restrictions with the recipient; you may also contact that organization directly.

You may ask for access to your personal information, a correction, an available copy, deletion, withdrawal of your application or closure of account access. Email the contact below with a description of the request. We may need to verify your identity and authority without collecting unnecessary information. A request about another adult needs appropriate authority. We will respond under applicable law and explain any limits or reasons we cannot fulfill a request, such as required records, legal claims or protecting another person’s information. Additional rights may apply depending on your residence and the laws applicable to the service; contact us to exercise them or raise a concern about our response.

Optional marketing is separate from service messages. When enabled, marketing emails will include a clear way to unsubscribe. You can also turn off community updates through available portal controls or contact us. Essential account, security or application communications may continue while needed to administer your account or application. Any future text-message marketing will require its own appropriate notice and permission; providing a phone number is not that permission.

7. Cookies, attribution and outside links

The service uses cookies or similar session mechanisms for sign-in, security, form protection, saved-session continuity and application source attribution. Campaign labels from an intake link can be retained with your session and application to measure program outreach. Blocking cookies may prevent sign-in or saved forms from working.

The current application does not embed advertising pixels, third-party behavioral analytics or session replay. Infrastructure and sign-in providers still process technical records. We will review notices and any required choices before adding optional tracking. Links to videos or external sites take you to another provider; the current public content uses links rather than automatically loading third-party video players. Review the destination’s notice when you visit it.

8. Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy, including application and program administration, applicable funding or financial records, demonstrating choices, security, dispute handling and legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the record type, whether a case remains active, the relevant program requirements and any legal hold. We do not promise one universal deletion period. You may contact us about the retention basis for a particular record or ask for deletion.

Archiving or withdrawing an application preserves its record and history; it is not deletion. Removal from an active system does not immediately remove copies in backups or an independent provider’s records. Restricted backup copies expire under their retention schedules and can be subject to recovery needs or legal preservation requirements. When deletion is appropriate, it must also be accounted for if data is later restored from backup.

We use measures such as encrypted connections, account authentication, permissions, restricted reviewer access, audit records and encrypted backups to protect information. No online system is completely secure. Keep your sign-in credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. If a security incident requires notification, we will provide it as required by applicable law.

9. Children and changes to this policy

Applicant accounts are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children under 13 through the service. Household applications request dependent counts, not identifying information about children. Contact us if you believe a child’s personal information has been entered so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We will post an updated policy and effective date when practices change. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice through the service or account communications, and obtain additional permission where required before a new use begins. Future features described here do not authorize undisclosed transfers or replace their separate notices.
